Our head office is on the edge of the English Lake District, a UNESCO World Heritage site. Our location connects us to nature and natural beauty, reminding us daily of our commitment to our environmental values.
Working with organisations like the Woodlands Trust, we edge closer to achieving our Net Zero goals.
The bulk of our raw materials consumption is in paper stocks, so it’s important to us that we source them responsibly. We work closely with our suppliers to ensure we use carbon-balanced, sustainably sourced, or recycled materials wherever possible.
We adopted vegetable-based inks as an alternative to petroleum-based products. Petroleum-based inks derived from a non-renewable resource are known to release volatile organic compounds (VOCs) that contribute to global warming. Vegetable inks are a sustainable and less harmful alternative that also produces great printing results.
We moved to process-free plates to reduce chemicals and energy throughout our production process. Traditional plates rely on harmful chemicals and heat to develop the printing plates for use on our presses. Our process now uses low energy LED lasers and water.
It is important to us that the power we use in our factories and offices be as efficient as possible and have the minimum impact on the environment. Our electricity supplier provides our entire business with electricity derived from 100% renewable sources. We also ensure we reduce the volume of electricity we consume through LED lighting and energy-efficient machines and streamline production processes.
Whether it is raw materials, inks, plates, utilities, or couriers, we always do so with our environmental responsibilities firmly in mind. We will continue to strive to make these as clean and low-impact as possible.
We are registered as a waste carrier, broker, and dealer with the Environmental Agency. This registration ensures that all waste is disposed of appropriately. We reuse and recycle wherever possible and remain committed to continuous improvement and pollution prevention.
